and came home with the
'A' division champion-
ship.
Game one was against
a tough Seaforth squad
who has the only win
over the Sailors in
league play this season.
Seaforth jumped out
to an early lead scoring
four minutes into the
game. In the second pe-
riod Lane Pitblado took
the puck from behind
his own net, went coast-
to-coast and blasted a
rocket over the Seaforth
defender to tie things
up.
With 1:17 left in the
game Jake Moulten from
Alex Conlon scored to
take the win.
Game two versus Sau-
geen Shores was a de-
fensive battle until half-
way through the third
period when Ben Martin
scored. Seven seconds
later, a goal came from
Zach Horton.
Luke Fraser picked
up two assists on those
goals with Moulten and
Quinn Frayne as help-
ers. Pitblado sealed the
deal unassisted for a 3-1
victory.
The championship
game was with home-
•
town BCH who came
out of the gate quickly,
notching the first goal.
It remained 1-0 until
late in the third period,
when Goderich mount-
ed a comeback.
The Sailors have
proven all year that they
never give up and they
are able to play with a
total team effort. The
championship game
would be no different.
Fraser took a pass from
Pitblado to tie the game.
Moulten, from Fraser,
slapped in a loose puck
on the doorstep 25 sec-
onds later to seal the
victory.
The Sailors'
strong defensive
core and flawless
goaltending by
Brady Bowman
can be commended
for only allowing
three goals over
three games. The
Bantam AESaiI-
ors are looking
forward to their
upcoming Silver
Stick Tournament
in December.
