Huron County Food Bank Dis-
tribution Centre is now up and
running. The Exeter -based ware-
house, which was made possible
through a number of community
stakeholders, allows for the stor-
age of large-scale and perishable
food donations. Kaastra notes
the site came in especially handy
earlier this year when a large do-
nation of potatoes was made to
the Friends' group.
• Those hoping to sign up for a
hamper this Christmas can do so•
by visiting the Salvation Army's
Family Services Office, located
at 16 Albert St. in Clinton, from
1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to
Friday, or by calling (519) 482-
8586. The Salvation Army's Ket-
tle Campaign will be under way
at Moore's Foodland in Clinton
on Dec. 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12.
• Those wishing to donate to
the St. Vincent de Paul Society

to 1.4 km North of Shoreline Road in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-
Wawanosh, Huron County
Detail Design and Class Environmental Assessment

THE PROJECT
Delcan Corporation, on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) is currently conducting the detail design for the
rehabilitation of 8.8 km of Highway 21 from Huron County Road 31 (Saitford Road) northerly to 1.4 km north of Shoreline Road within
the Township of Ashfield-Colbome-Wawanosh, County of Huron. Specific improvements being addressed by the project include:
• Pavement rehabilitation
• Structural culvert rehabilitation at seven locations
• Rehabilitation of the Auburn Rail Trail
"Tiger Dunlop" Bridge
• Crossing, sideroad and entrance culvert
rehabilitation/replacement
• Curb and gutter replacements
• Guiderail upgrades
• Reconstruction/removal of
entrances as required.
THE PROCESS
This project is following the planning process for Group "B"
projects under the Class Environmental Assessment
for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000), with the
opportunity for public input throughout. Upon completion
of this study, a Transportation Environmental Study Report
(TESR) will be prepared and made available for a 30 -day
public review period. Notification of submission of the
TESR will be publish '1 in this newspaper and mailed to
members of the public who request to be added to the
study mailing list.
PUBUC INFORMATION CENTRE
As part of the planning process, a Public Information Centre (PIC) is being held to present and obtain comments on the identified
study issues and the problem/opportunity being addressed, existing conditions and constraints within the study area, features of the
technically preferred detailed design, and construction staging information. The PIC will consist of an informal drop-in centre with
displays showing the technically preferred detailed design. MTO and Delcan staff will be on hand to answer any questions and
receive your Input.
