Bob Zizek, Bobby Zee, number 56 in the camou-
flage Challenger.
It doesn't matter what you know him by, the man
can race.
Earlier this month, Zizek took third place in
points in super streetstock at Varney Speedway, and
he's got the hardware to prove it. He said he doesn't
mind coming in third, as the super street division is
getting more competitive.
"Our goal this year was to finish in the top three,"
he said. "Everyone wants to be a champ, but this is
a really competitive series."
This year, Zizek said he decided to go with a crate
engine - right out of the box from Gen-
eral Motors. The 355 horsepower engine
gave him the reliability he needed on the
track.

The whole idea is for a level playing -
field," he said. "From guys who work in
their backyards as opposed to full-time
mechanics."
The switch made all the difference, he
said. In June, he won two feature races
and averaged a top five placing every
week in Varney.
While the engine was reliable, Zizek
said victory was not without cost.
"Every time I broke an axle, we won
a feature," he laughed. "Funny how that
happens."
One of hundreds of employees affect-
ed by the Volvo closure, Zizek said he
turned a negative into a positiye putting
more time into his car.
"I'd come home every weekend and
do body work," he said. "Put in 40
hours working on it to get ready for next
week."
Zizek's car quickly became known to
fans, with its camouflage paint job which
he did to show his support for Canadian
troops - his son included.
Zizek started racing three years ago,
and at that time, had both a truck and a car
on the track. He took rookie of the year
when he first started racing streetstock,
