Awards recognize drive for more downtown business

night saw awards presented to different busi-
nesses and individuals who create unique
opportunities downtown and bring more
people into the BIA area.
Entrepreneurs and business representa-
tives who were recognized included Amanda
Collins and Tara Wright of Collins & Wright
Hair Studio, Dean Whalen and Judy Martens
of Lighthouse Money Management, Louise
Schaeffer and Anne Ferguson of Schaefer's
Ladies Wear, Stephanie Ormeno of The Shoe
Barn, and Majorie Wise of Royal Bank.
Ormeno also became a member of the
BIA executive.
John and Connie Harrison were also rec-
ognized with an award for the Westcoast
Blues Fest, an event held this past Labour
Day weekend that brought many visitors to
Goderich's downtown Square.
Susan Armstrong, manager of the BIA,
said that the event was well -attended, and
went smoothly.
"It was a great success," she said. "The
room had a positive feeling, and the turn -out
was great."
