1. Cobourg Street
The homeowners commissioned architect
Napier Simpson to design this lovely home,
originally a vacation home for the extended
family. It was built over two years, 1974 and
1975, on an empty property formerly occupied
by the Elliotts.
2. Colborne Street
Colborne Bed and Breakfast
This stately red -brick home was built in 1890
and served as the manse for Knox Presbyterian
Church from 1911 to 1978. It housed four
ministers, the last being The Rev. Lockhart
Royal, husband of Audrey Royal who, until
her death in 2007, was a member of IODE.
4. Cameron Street
This gracious yellow -brick
home was built in 1862 by
one G. Cameron who no
doubt gave his name to the
street it's on. In 1918 the
property was bought by the
Corporation of Huron
County and became the
Children's Shelter until it
was sold in 1941.
3. East Street
This semi-detached century home was built
in 1890. The homeowners acquired it in
2006 and have made a fine job of updating
it. You enter through what was originally the
kitchen porch but is now a charming
sunroom-cum-breakfast room. Beyond is
the kitchen and a back porch.
3. Gibbons Street
This home was built in 1910
and the south wing was added
in the 1970s. The
homeowners moved here six
years ago and have made it
into a lovely home for their
three young children, while
maintaining the original
woodwork and character.
