Goderich Si9nNSYar, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 Singer -songwriter Issa performs at Livery in November One of Canada's most creative and re- spected singer -songwriters will be perform- ing at The Livery Theatre in Goderich on Thursday, November 5. Issa, who performed as Jane Siberry until 2006, will be perform- ing songs from her new album With What Shall 1 Keep Warm?, and some old favou- rites at the concert that kicks off at 8:30 p.m. Issa, who had international success as Jane Siberry in the 1980s and 90s, chose to fol- low a new and uniquely individual path in her life and music by changing her name and giving away all of her worldly possessions in 2006. Tickets for the Issa concert are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Tick- ets can be purchased at: Ernie King Music in Goderich; The Livery in Goderich; Pianova- tions in Blyth; and The Village Bookshop in Bayfield. Siberry was studying music and microbi- ology at the University of Guelph when she released her debut album, Jane Siberry in 1981. The album was relatively successful for an independent release, but the follow-up, No Borders Here, was critically acclaimed and included the underground hit "Mimi on the Beach." The Speckless Sky (1985) was a commercial and critical success and subse- quently followed with the release of her next two albums, The Walking (1988) and Bound by the Beauty (1989). In 1993, Siberry worked with Michael Brook and Brian Eno on When I Was a Boy. The album's most famous song, the KD Lang duet "Calling All Angels," first ap- peared in Wim Wenders' film Until the End of the World, and was later re-recorded for the Pay it Forward movie soundtrack. KD Lang would go on to release two more of Jane Siberry's songs; "Love is Everything" and "The Valley," on her tribute album To Canadian music, Song from the 49th Paral- lel. In 2008 she released Dragon Dreams, her first album under the Issa name. Her new 'al- bum, With What Shall 1 Keep Warm?, is slat- ed to be released in late October of 2009.
