At Huronlea Home, Brussels on Tuesday,
October 20, 2009, Leslie L. Sanders in his 88th
year. Much loved husband of Dorothy Sanders
(Hardy). Loving father of Allan L. Sanders. By
Leslie's written request there will be no funeral
home visitation or service. Cremation has
taken place. Memorial donations to the
Alzheimer's Society gratefully acknowledged

sudden but
peaceful passing
of Ross
Pennington,
Thursday,
October 15,
2009 in Penticton.
Ross' infectious
love for his family
and desire to never miss a memory, carried
him through the last twenty years of heart
complications. Ross was an inspiration to
his fellow soldiers during his six years of
commitment to the Essex -Scottish Regiment
fighting in Dieppe, France and surviving as
a POW of WWII. Following his commitment
to the forces, Ross worked for 40 years
with the public service in Ontario and
British Columbia and became an active
member of the communities he lived in,
involved in the Rotary, Kinsmen Club and
Legion. Ross' positive energy touched every

person he encountered, which was confirmed
by the overwhelming outreach of the
community in the days after his death. Even
in his passing he will remain the backbone
of the Pennington family reminding us of
the importance of the love and support that
exists between us. He is survived by his
loving wife of 59 years Nora Pennington
(nee. McPhee); daughter Susan
(VanSteingburg); grandchildren Ryan
(Kristen), Aaron (Priscilla) and Sarah
(Lucas); daughter Mary (Bryan) Cawthorne;
grandchildren Matthew (Cassie), Emily and
Megan; son David (Angela) and
grandchildren Jenna and Alex as well as his
brothers Doug (Marjorie) and Leonard
(Dorothy). He was also an amazing great-
grandfather to Avery, Luella, Rossie, Ben,
Isabella, Penelope, Taelyr and Breelynn. A
warm thank you from the family to all those
that have shared their support and kept
Ross in their thoughts at this time. A
Memorial Service was held at the Penticton
United Church, Saturday, October 24.

Elson. Predeceased by daughters Margaret
Ann in infancy and Janet Elliott (2004) and
son-in-law Brian Elliott (2007). Dunc was
an active member of the Chancel Choir, a
Caring Visitor, former member of the Kirk
Session and Board of Managers at Knox
Presbyterian Church. He was also an active
member of the Goderich Lawn Bowling
Club and Seniors Bowling League and was
a Free Mason for many years. Friends were
received at McCallum & Palla Funeral
Home, Goderich on Friday from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held at Knox
Presbyterian Church, Goderich on Saturday,
October 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment
Maitland Cemetery. Donations to Heart &
Stroke Foundation or the charity of your
choice gratefully acknowledged. Friends
