The Goderich PeeWee Rep
Sailors had a rough start to the
Glencoe Ice Cats Tournament
Saturday, October 24. Their first
match -up was against the Lam-
beth Lancers. Stephen De Jager
tucked one away in the second,
however, a series of unfortunate
penalties contributed to Lambeth
outscoring the Sailors, 4-1.
Next up, the Sailors faced the
home -team Glencoe Ice Cats in
an action -packed confrontation.
Kody Langlois started things off
by scoring a goal at 3:25 of the first
period. A Glencoe goal at 3:38 in
the second tied the game up at one
apiece. While on the power play
in the third, the Ice Cats scored
one more time to make it 2-1.
On Sunday the Sailors faced off
with the Dresden Junior Kings.
Kody Langlois drew first blood

Shortly into the third, De Jager
scored a wrap-around goal, assist-
ed by Langlois, giving the Sail-
ors a 2-0 lead. The Junior Kings
pulled their goalie and managed
to score with 12.7 seconds left in
the game but the Sailors kept them
in check, and won 2-1.
In the bronze medal game, the
Sailors again faced the Dresden
Junior Kings. The Sailors domi-
nated the first period. Dominic
Burbine scored at 4:03, assisted
by Simpson. Chase Kulich scored
on the wrap-around 14 seconds
later, helped out by Burbine and
Simpson. Kyle Langlois let a
screamer go from the blue line
less than one minute later to make
it 3-0, Sailors.
Dresden scored once in the
second period, but the Sailors an-
swered back for a 4-1 finish and
the bronze medal.
Midget Sailorettes start
season on winning note
The Goderich Sailorettes scored
a 3-2 win in Kincardine last week
as Emily Gordon scored the
Midgets' first goal of the season
assisted by Michelle Kelly.
Rachel Sowerby scored on as-
sists from Taylor Pritchard and
Shayla Mathers. Mathers and
Laura Smith set up Sowerby's
game -winning goal late in the
third period.
At the Memorial Arena last
Tuesday, the Sailorettes won a
convincing 4-0 victory over Sau-
geen Shores. Jessica Ryan earned
a pair of goals in the first period.
Ryan's first goal was assisted by
Gordon. Her second goal was on
pass from Kelsey Johnston.
Michelle Kelly and Shayla
Mathers assisted Kelsa Curran's
goal in the second period. The fi-
nal Goderich goal was scored by
Rachel Sowerby with an assist
from Kristen McColl.
Danielle Bean and Jaden Mitch-
ell's spirited defence helped goal -
tender Jessica Yates get her first
shutout of the season.
