The Petites played hard Saturday morn- ing against Seaforth in their first game. The game stayed tied at zero until past the mid -point of the final period, when Goderich scored two unanswered goals to take the game 2-0. Goaltending and strong defence were key to this victory. The second game of the tournament brought Richmond Hill to the YMCA. Richmond Hill came out strong scoring two goals early before the Goderich squad turned on the juice and scored four -in -a - row to take the lead. With the score 6-4 in the final period, God- erich seemed to have the game under con- trol when Richmond Hill followed up with two goals, ending in a 6-6 tie. After round robin play, Richmond Hill had earned a spot against top -seeded God- erich on Sunday in the gold medal game. The game started with Goderich getting up in the first period by a 4-1 score. The Petites employed stellar defence, supe- rior goaltending and solid dedication to pave the way for a 6-2 final. The tournament saw 16 teams playing in four divisions. Games were played at both the Memorial Arena and the Mait- land Recreation Centre.
