The Goderich Signal-Star, 2009-10-21, Page 31
Photo submitted Collaboration collection Members of the Goderich Co-op Gallery collaborat- ed by submitting their 'favourite' piece of art work, which was then printed and made into a set of all occasion cards as well as a sixteen month calendar. Both items are being used to introduce the Christmas Season at the Gallery - along with a number of special guest artisans - beginning in November. Gallery mem- bers (left to right) Bill Creighton, Madeleine Roske and Reta Ross are seen celebrating the end of the laborious packing and stuffing job that is all done by hand. Atom Lakers downed in weekend tourney The 99 Atom Lakers traveled to Hamilton to participate in the annual Tim Horton's Tourna- ment on the weekend. The Lakers started things off against a diffi- cult Halton Hurricanes club. It was an exciting back and forth game that was decided in a short span during the second period as the Hurricanes exploded for three quick goals and an eventual 5-2 victory. Noah Kuno scored both goals while Carter Collinson and Bradley Kraemer each earned an assist. Game two was not any easier as the Hamilton Reps provided the opposition. The game was another close tight checking affair that was de- cided only after a short Laker letdown which led to Hamilton scoring two quick goals and ending up with a 3-0 victory. Game three had the Lakers on fire as they dominated play from start to finish, out shooting the Ottawa Sting 28-12. Despite their offensive prowess, the Lakers lost 2-1. Will Thibeault scored the one Laker goal that was allowed. Brett Denny drew the assist. The Lakers ended the tournament on a high note as they defeated the Central Ontario Wolves. Tan- ner Hertel opened the scoring knocking in a Dillon Weinheimer pass to put the Lakers up by one. The Wolves answered back before Kuno scored the winner on a feed from Jacob Rooke icing a 2-1 victory. The goaltending duo of Brock Baier and Bai- ley Paquette had another strong weekend as did defencemen Ben Derrough and Hunter James. The Lakers hope to build on that victory as they continue their Alliance season hosting rival Wa- terloo Wolves Saturday on Laker Day in God- erich. 06clertch'8ignal-Star, Wednesday, October 2609 - Page 31 ON SALE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 TO FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2009 bulk barn*. 10 • 0 0 0 • Peanuts, Blanched, Roasted salted or unsalted .35/100g 459 ..b Natural Almonds California 1.39/100g 29 2 9 6..b Pitted Dates loose pack .33/100g 149 • a Ib Dried Cranberries .1 y „ 1.37/100g Rolled Oats quick or targe flake .13/100g .59,b Deluxe 66/ FruitMix AN b Walnut Pieces '"°°9 or Crumbs :, 9 Cardortia 111 lb cps regular or jumbo i.84/100goog 0 0 • 0 379 5''0: 0 0 25 0 9e 66/1°°9 2.996 151 15:40 ocolate 379 Ib Ib HERE'S TO YOUR HEALTH Brown Rice Pasta gluten-free, assorted varieties 1000!o Bran Cereal ©Flax Seeds /golden, brown or ground © redLentils or green Quality, value and selection since 1982 i 0 Canada's largest bulk food retailer & more.
