on home court
After hosting their first set of
league matches, the Goderich
District Collegiate institute senior
boys volleyball team showed they
were a force to be reckoned with
starting the season with a perfect
six -win record.
In their first match against Li-
stowel, the boys out -served and
out -passed their opponent easily
setting up their varied offensive
attacks. led by Sean Dawson, Josh
Nicol -Macdonald and Zach Do-
herty. Setter Aaron VandenHeuv-
el's expertise at the net allowed for
the senior Vikes to run numerous
middle attacks by Joel Doherty and
Spencer Jones. The Vikes defeated
Listowel 25-16, 25-5, 25-19.
Up next was Stratford North-
western whom the Vikes have al-
ready crossed twice in pre -season
tournament play. Just like before,
the Vikes walked away with the
victory which was a 'full team
effort" according to Coach Misty
Phillips, with scores of 25-16. 25-
14, 25-12.
"The boys have made some great
improvements in their play, but we
still have a ways to go," she said.
"Lucky for us, we're constantly
improving and the team is gelling
quite well." The senior Vikings
travel to South Huron on Thursday
attempting to keep their league re-
cord perfect against the Panthers.
The juniors, meanwhile, swept
Listowell three straight before end-
