Rumbolt will be performing Saturday, October 3 at North Street United Church. With evocative sotry-telling, soaring vocals and a vulnerable delivery, Rumbolt's performances are captivating. It is not just the quality and range of his voice that makes him a great performer, but the purity of emotion that he delivers with his songs that grab and hold the listener's attention: A fixture in the southern Alberta music community, working with such notables as Cindy Church, Nathan Tinkham, Amos Garratt and Dave Hamilton, Rumbolt 1 has a regional and national fan base that ranges from folk -lovers to those who simply enjoy his intricate song stylings and incredible tenor voice. For Rumbolt, the most rewarding aspect of a life- time ifetime of music has been the opportunity to share, col- lect and create stories with the people for whom he has been priveleged to perform. Now with the release of his fifth album, he returns to his musical roots with a work that speaks of his love of the people and places a life in music has brought him to. Heavy rains and early thaws caused extensive bank erosion there in the past year. Scouts and anglers clean shore Despite rainy weather on Saturday, Octo- ber. 3, more than 30 local residents were ac- tive cleaning up and protecting local creeks. Goderich Scouts, with help from the Bayfield Anglers, were building up the shores of Gully Creek at Porter's Hill Lane between Goder- ich and Bayfield. Heavy rains in December 2008 and February 2009 had caused exten- sive stream bank erosion in Gully Creek. The Scouts and anglers used shrub cuttings to help protect the banks. Volunteers also learned the importance of holding water fur- ther upstream to reduce stream bank erosion downstream. At another creek, near the Lane of Pines Subdivision, volunteers participated in the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Clean- up. Sixteen bags of garbage were pulled from the creek. The ten volunteers joined 56,916 a fellow Canadians that have been cleaning up their local shorelines over the month of Sep- tember. Both the shoreline clean-up and the stream bank restoration are projects that have been initiated by the Bayfield North Water- shed Planning Committee.
