Garbage contract set to close used cues signal -star staff Garbage collection in Goderich could be clging hands. iiAt the September 21 meeting of council, • leaped the current contract with Waste Management is coming to an Febn try of 2010 and the town can weigh other options if so desired. Environmental services technologist Jen- nette Walker said the town can simply re- new its contract with CWM or open garbage collection up to bids from other companies. Waste Management, a company based out of Texas, has also expressed interest in garbage collection for Goderich, and the re- quest for proposals is set to be out by next month. Walker did note, however, the town has no complaints with the service received by Canada Waste Management. The frequency of garbage collection and the location also raised some questions around the council table, as a single day col- lection could save the town considerably. As it stands now, residents put their recy- clables on one side of the street and garbage on another.
