Heroes
The weekend was marked by ser-
vices to honour our Canadian sol-
diers and veterans. The Royal
Canadian Legion Branch 109 hosted
its annual Decoration Day service at
the Maitland Cemetery on Sept. 20,
while the Friends of the Veterans
organization rolled into town Sept. 19
during its Salute Ride (below).
Above, the Legion Colour Guard
stands at attention during the
Decoration Day ceremonies at
Maitland Cemetery Sunday. The ser-
vice honours all veterans who have
passed away, at home or abroad. At
left, Rick Livesy of the Royal Canadian
Air Cadets 532 Maitland Squadron,
places his poppy on a wreath during
the Decoration Day service while the
Rev. Canon Allan Livingstone looks
on.
