After opening with a convincing 5-0 win over Waterloo on Wednesday night, it took a late goal on Friday to earn a 4-4 tie with the Kitchener Jr Rangers. On Saturday the Lakers played host to Waterloo and after spotting them an early two -goal lead, scored five goals in the second period en route to a 7-3 win. To complete the schedule, the Lakers were home to Kitchener on Sunday af- ternoon and skated off with a 3-0 victo- ry, recording their second shutout win of the pre -season. About 25 players from Mitchell, Seaforth and Goderich were divided into teams each week, and coach Todd Stanbury said the idea came from parents and players who wanted to continue over the summer.
