This Thursday, September 10,
the fighters of Lakeview Boxing
Club will be getting into the ring
in Oakville and trainer Kirk Killam
has a new addition to his lineup in
Lucknow's Brandon Bridges.
"He's got real potential," Killam
said. "If he wants to pursue it, he
can."
The 19 -year-old boxer has two
fights under his belt now, and while
Bridges did not win the decisions
in either, he is already showing his
power and his talent in the ring.
"His first fight was against a
35 -year-old who looked like a
body-builder," Killam said. "Bran-
don put him down in the first round
with a big right."
His punch is something to be
revered, Killam said. In just his
second bout, Bridges broke his
opponents ribs in the first round.
However, his opponent stuck it out
and racked up more punches on the
judges' score cards.
Meanwhile, 14year-old Alex
Vodden is continuing to improve in
the ring.
Killam said the fight promoter
in Oakville specifically asked for
the young boxer to appear after a
savage battle against Alex Fong in
August.
"It was a good war;" Killam said.
"The rematch will be Thursday."
Killam said Vodden is hitting
harder, getting stronger and his car-
dio is improving steadily. In the de-
cision against Fong, Vodden's loss

third bout.
was attributed to incorrect punch-
ing technique - otherwise, the judg-
es said he landed more blows.
And there are big things in store
for Killam as well. November 13
will mark an emotional return to
the ring at his old gym, Primetime
Boxing in Oakville.
