Mrs, Dr. Brock, of St. Thomas, has
been visiting her cousin, Mrs. Frank
Gill this week,
Miss Verna. Coates and MVIiss Stella
Southcott are visting for a couple of
weeks in Toronto.
Mrs. A. Cottle was in St. Thomas
Saturday attending the funeral of the
late Mrs. Barnes, formerly of Exeter.
Mrs. W. J. Beer and her mother,
Mrs. R. Quance returned home last
Friday after visting for two weeks in
Toronto.
The cattle were able to run in the
open, later this year than for some
years. They are being brought in
this week,
Mrs. (Rev.) Sharp has returned to
her home in Sirncoe after visiting for
a couple of weeks with Mr. and Mrs.
J. G. Stanbury.
The spell of rnild weather was bro-
ken on Monday by a fall of snow. On
Tuesday the ground was covered with
a couple 'of inches of the beautiful.
Mr. Hamilton, forman of the -Hyd-
ro gang who are putting up the lines
between Exeter'and-,Crediton, nar-
rowly escaped being electrocuted on
Saturday. They were stringing the
wires when one caught in the branch
of a tree, and while tightening one
of the lines the wire gave way and
touched ° the 13,000volt wires. The
shock knocked Mr. 'IYamiltori about
ten 'feet and his arm was numb for
several days. It' was a miraculous
escape from death.
LOST -On Sunday Nov. 5th probably
on William St., an octopus shaped
gold brooch, with clear stone in cen-
tre. $5.00 reward will be given to
the one returning same to Dr. Kins-
man's•office, Main St.

St. church sheds on Tuesday night of
