The Bayfield Babes took 'B' Honours, and Boston Pizza rounded out the tournament, taking top 'C' spot. Goderich Sunset Golf Club Otter starts Aug 24 maa.-410:-ezia 1.4 Men's Slo-Pitch year end tournament this weekend Deny Scott signal -star staff The Goderich Men's Slo-Pitch League sea- son is drawing to a close, and this year they're ending things with a bang with their year-end tournament on August 28 and 29. Organizer Matt MacPhee explained that the league has nun into problems in the past with the season running too long, and some teams losing players due to college and uni- versity schedules, so the league has decided to put on their year-end tournament and de- cide champions while all the players are still around "This will be the fust year we're going to do it, but we're definitely expecting good re- sults," MacPhee said. The tournament, which will be held at the Goderich Agricultural Park, will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday night, and the tournament will be accompanied by a beer gardens, put on by the Goderich Pirates. "The Pirates will be running [the beer gar- dens] MacPhee said, "And we'll both be split- ting the profits," Saturday's festivities will Mart at 10:30 a.m., and continue on through the final games, which will start at 7 p.m. The beer gardens will run until an undecided time Sat- urday evening. With each team guaranteed at least three matches, and eight teams involved, there will be plenty of games for players and spectators alike. The tournament's roster will be decided during the week, with final season games be- ing played. The tournament will be split into two sides, with teams ranked one through four playing for the 'A' finals, and teams ranked five through eight competing for the 'B' finals.
