Locals finish big at Walton motocross championships

Perfect weather graced Walton last
week, keeping the track dry and spirits
high among the thousands of fans and
riders who converged last week for the
Transcan Grand National Championships,
Aug. 12-16.
A number of local riders hit the track,
going up against some of the top racers in
their age category across North America.

took fifth place in the MX3 GP Intermedi-
ate race.
"Scott only recently recovered from a
collarbone injury and he had a brilliant
ride," says event manager Chris Lee.
Seaforth's 1}/ler Listman finished in
19th place in the same event.
Walton's Mitchell Godkin finished 1 l th
in the super mini category.
In the Youth 14-24 age group, Matt
Shannon of Seaforth finished 35th.
Seaforth's Trevor Keys finished in 42nd
place in the MX3 Junior race.
James Emmrich of Walton took 23rd
place in the over -25 race.
