The group, which started at Brussels Public School, is seeking to make the world a better place. McGavin graduated from Brussels P.S. this June, and is looking to follow Craig Kiel - burger's path. Kielburger is best known for his group; Free The Children, which he start- ed when he was 12. FCT now spans the globe, fighting child labour and poverty. Kid's Care hasn't got their own goal yet, all he knows is he wants to help. The group is currently donating the money they raise to Free the Chil- dren. "I want to make a difference, but we haven't picked a defi- nite focus yet," McGavin said. The group sells t -shirts and bricks through the Brick By Brick campaign, which helps builds schools in impoverished countries, to raise money for Free the Children. After two years working, the group has raised half of their $20,000 goal. "We know that kids can make a difference, [Kielburger] was proof and we're proving it to." - Jacob McGavin Founder of Kids Care Kids Cares' plans include obtaining federal support to put blue boxes beside every public garbage can, and im- plementing a Hallowe'en for the Hungry program, where youths trick -or -treat for dona- tions instead of candy. "We know that kids can make a difference, [Kielburger] was proof, and we're proving it too," McGavin said, adding that almost everything in his group is done by the approxi- mately 40 youths that run it. "We have six executive mem- bers," he said. "And my mom, she's our honourary CEO, she drives us and helps us a.lot." M'cGavin said that the staff at Brussels P.S. also helped a great deal with getting the group up and running.
