As time goes by without you, And the days turn into years, They hold a million memories, And a thousand silent tears. You meant so very much to us, That nothing they can say, Can heal the pain that's in our hearts, As we think of you each day. No matter how we spend our days, No matter what we do, Before we close our eyes at night, We always think of you. Remembered by your wife Irene; your children, Vickie, Sandra and Dana, Joyce and Rob; and grandchildren, Courtney and Mackenzie, Megan and Kyle. —30c • 4 AltAINIKS 1 a Memorial The family of the late Ben Hey will be hosting a memorial reception on Monday August 3rd, 2009 from 2:OOpm-4:OOpm. The costs to hold this event will be significant and the committee members and volunteers have come forward with many suggestions and help- ing hands to assist in raising these funds. The community has come forward as well and it is wonder- ful to see every one getting to- gether for the common cause. Area baseball teams have been gathering players for the baseball tournament, to be held July 24th and 25th at the Dungannon Fair Grounds. A ham supper will be served Saturday evening, 4:30 — 7:00. The first breakfast, our learn- ing experience, was very well at- tended and gave us a trial run for the next breakfast to be held Au- gust 1st , 8:00 — 11:00, at Christ Church Port Albert. The menu will include pancakes for the kids and tickets may be purchased in advance, $3.00 for children age 6 and under, $6.00 for adults. Ar- rangements have been made to accommodate a larger crowd but it is advised to purchase tickets well ahead of time as the food has to be ordered. Mark and Lyn Ryan have been sharpening their cooking skills, from hotdogs at Zehrs, company dinner at Jeff and Sue Orr's and egg flipper at the breakfast all the while advertising the T-shirts that are now available. Special thanks to the Orr fam- ily, Joe and Kelly at Port Albert General Store and the Cozyn's for their support and especially to Gwen Doherty who was asked to organize the breakfast with about two week's notice, well done Gwen. The annual cemetery service was held July 12th in the Port Al- bert Cemetery. It was a beautiful service, Barb Hayden played the organ, Stu Sharp provided addi- tional music with his bagpipes and special soloist Teresa Luciani sang a beautiful rendition of Per- haps Love. Lunch was served following the service. Stu Sharp and Gwen Doherty also found time to do some tree trimming at the cemetery which was badly needed. The annual Christ Church bake sale, tea and crafts will be held July 25th from 2:00 to 4:00, come early as this is a popular event. A belated congratulations to Eliza Fleming for the Midget Girls Champ 2009 trophy she received from Brookside School. Eliza was first in running long jump, standing long jump, triple jump and 200 meter heats and placed 3rd in all other events. She competed in 6 events at Region- als finishing second in standing long jump and second in stand- ing triple jump, 3rd in the 200 meter heat which moved her to the final heat where she was 6th and finished 3rd in the 4 x 100 meter relay. At the District com- petition she was only permitted to compete in one event because of her age and she finished 6th in the standing triple jump out of the entire school board. Blyth Festival provides fund raising onnortunit The Blyth Festival is providing an oppor- tunity for three organizations to raise both funds and awareness this summer. Huron County Victim Services, the West- ern Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA) and the Seaforth Community Hospital Foun- dation are each raising funds through perfor- mances at the theatre. For each full priced ticket sold for designated performances, the Blyth Festival is offering $5 to the or- ganization as well as the proceeds from the evening's 50/50 draw. In addition, each or- ganization is co-ordinating a silent auction to boost its revenue. Each organization has chosen Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad by Michael Melski for their event. The play, starring Eric Coates and Shauna Black and directed by Miles Potter, is the story of a single dad pursuing a single mom as they cheer on their sons at the game. Love — or something like love blooms in the stands, until a certain element of the game rears its ugly head. Huron County Vic- tim Services selected the 8 p.m. performance on July 25, the WOAA picked the 8 p.m. performance on July 31, and the Seaforth DE LIVER FOR THE FUTURE What do you call someone who runs their own business, braves summer heat and the winter chill is on the job in the rain, snow and sleet, is always cheerful and courteous and who brings the product right to your door every Wednesday without fail while also trying to conquer the intricacies of math, science and auditioning for -chair saxophone in the school band? 1 Nderldi $iwM-StarWrist Tomorrows entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers and craftsmen are today's newspaper carriers. team skis that will last a lifetime, and eaming a little money on the side couldn't hurt either. allalik CaIINow 5242614e.22O Community Hospital Foundation's event is on Saturday, August 29th at 2 p.m. Supporting these organizations is easy.
