buries North Middlesex
On July 9, the U 1 1 Tempest girls
soccer team played St.Marys. After
a hard fought battle, St.Marys came
away the winner with a final score
of 1-0.
Nerena Goud played tremen-
dous in net, with lots of support
from defence Lauren Doherty, Kyra
Lewis and Bryanna Campbell. The
Tempest look forward to playing
St.Marys in the first round of play-
offs as it will surely be an exciting
game!
On July 16 the U11 Tempest girls
soccer team played North Middle-
sex. Goderich won the game 6-1
with excellent goal keeping by
Lauren Doherty and Sierra Burt.
Goderich goal scorers were Quinn
Talbot (2), Sierra Burt (2), Kailee
Hewitt and Lauren Doherty. Bryn
Lewis and Booter Buchannan both
played excellent games.
UI I STORM Boys
The Goderich U1 1 Storm boys
soccer team has been busy the last
couple weeks adding a win, a loss
and two ties to their season. On
June 22nd the boys tied an aggres-
sive Coldstream team, who are
positioned just one point ahead of
them in the current standings. The
boys played a strong home game
and Harley Oster scored the team's
lone goal.
June 29th the team travelled
to North Middlesex where they
dominated their opponents 10 - 0.
Trent Buchanan and Harley Oster
both notched hattricks while Luc
Arbour scored 2 and brothers Mat-
thew and Branden Bean each added
one.
The team was home again on July
6th and tied the Falcon Kestrels 2 - 2.
Harley Oster netted a beautiful goal
early on while Branden Bean came
to the rescue with one minute left in
the game and tied everthing up just
before the final whistle. And with
great defense by Cameron Brenner
and Kevin Dendonnen and an amaz-
ing gam in net from Liam Shore,
the boys were a force to be reckoned
with.
Finally, on July 13th the team trav-
elled toArkonaand lost 2-0to
the topped ranked Falcon Har-
riers. The boys started the game
short handed and played the
rest of the game with no subs.
The boys but forth an amazing
effort with many of them play-
ing different positions.
Summerfest golf results
On Friday, July 10, 2009 the
Maitland Golf and Courcy Club
held their Annual Summa fest
Scramble. The winning teams
were: First, Arthur Hooff, Les
McKnight, Jan Hawley and Kar-
en McVittie; Second, Colin Mc-
Donagh, Ernie McVittie, Wendy
Harvey and Martha Archbold;
Third, Cy Harvey, John Arch-
bold, Barb McKnight and Rose-
mary
On Sunday, July 12, Maitland
Country Club held its Annual
Zehrs Food Plus Adult/Parent,
Junior member golf outing.
First low gross, junior
member were Tom and Billy
Fischer, first low gross, adult non
member, junior member, Brian
Lynch and John Bedour, closest
to the pin (adult) Mark Chisholm.
Closest to the pin (junior) 'Taylor
Elliott.
On Monday, July 13, first low
net was shot by run McCaffery
and Bill Tideswell with 29; first
low gross, Ray Bedard, Nate
Oaer and Roy Wallace with a 36.
Closest to the pin on # 1 was Tom
Crawford. Other winners were:
Bob Graham, Bill Liddy, Bill
Brown, Gary Lynch, Gary John-
ston,
ohnston, John Archbold, Bill Hanly
and Kyler Kolmext.
On Tuesday July 14, 69 players
took to the cause. The winners
weans: Flight A - Ted Evanetz and
Cy Harvey; Flight B - Percy Gar-
rick and Jim Glkivist; Flight C -
Bob Colquhoun; Flight D - Don
Elliott; Flight E - Kevin Rumig
and Don Yates; Flight F - Ken
Armstrong and Ted Johnston.
Closest to the pin on #1 was Ron
Klages.
On Tuesday night 66 players
came for a scramble with ladies
from Bayfield, Woodland, Sea-
forth,
exforth, Sunset, Exeter and Goder-
ich.
The winning team was Denese
McCabe, A.McMillon from God-
erich, Fran Donohue from Sunset
and Joan Stewart from Exeter
Closest to the pin on #1 was
Barb Cook from Bluewater, Lon-
gest putt on #5 Betty Helesic of
Maitland, Closest to the line on
#9 Barb Picot of Bluewater Bay-
field.
After golf everyone enjoyed a
delicious meal after which prizes
were awarded.
On July 15, Junior Day,, two
teams tied, after retro. the team of
Twin Donnelly, James Twat, Jarred
Bakker and Nathan Jeffrey were
first; second, Taylor Elliott, Taylor
Helesic, Sierra Burt and Savannah
Freem; third place, Hudson Lester,
Konrad Schilbe, Josh Freeman and
Jonathan
Thursday Morning Ladies'
League, July 16, Wendy Harvey
came in with fewest putts. First
flight, low gross, Rosemarie Ev-
ans.

THE STUDY
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) has retained Delcan Corporation to conduct the detail design for the rehabilitation of the
Clark Creek Brkige, South Pine River Bridge,
Central Pine River Bridge, Royal Oak River
Bridge, and McLean Young Bridge on Highway LAKE HURON
21 between Amberley and Kincardine; and
for the rehabilitation of eighteen
non-structural culverts on Highway 9, from
Kincardine to Bruce County Road 7, and on
Highway 21 from Amberley to Port Elgin.
THE PROCESS
This project Is following the planning process
for Group 13" projects under the Class
Environmental Assessment for Provincial
Facilities (MTO 2000), with
the opportunity for public input throughout.
One Public information Centre (PIC) will be
held M association with this study. The PIC Is
tentatively scheduled for Fall 2009.
Upon completion of this study, a 1 aneportatbn
Environmental Study Report (TE8R) will be
prepared and made available for a 30 -day
public review period. Notification of the PIC and
submission of the TEM will be published In this newspaper and mailed to members of the public who request to be added to the study
mailing list.
