CULBERT
In loving memory of a
dear mother,
grandmother and great-
grandmother, Anna
Rebecca (Becky).
Culbert who passed
away seven years ago,
July 19, 2002.
There is a lady in
Heaven
So special and so rare
This lady is our Mother
The best beyond compare.
You showed us love and kindness
You taught us how to care
You bound us all together
With a love that we share.
You taught us many things in life
That we would have to do
But you never taught us how to cope
With the pain of losing you.
DICKSON
In memory of the most amazing father, Don
Dickson, who left us so suddenly on July 15,
2008,
I cannot put into words how much I've missed
You,
How much I've needed to hear your voice, see
your smile and feel your hugs.
You were never just my dad, but always my
best friend.
You were always my strength, always my
believer and always my hero.
My mind and heart are stuck on that moment
when
I learned you were gone.
1 truly felt my heart break in two,
With most of it leaving with you.
Time is now marked by how many
Days, weeks and months it's been since I lost
you.
Most days there is still disbelief that you are
gone.

• THOSE WHO LIVE IN OUR HEARTS
WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US
We cannot control the movement of time,
Nor can we control our destiny,
Or the destinies of those we love.
But we can take comfort in knowing,
That those who have lived in our hearts,
Are never really gone.
For as long as we keep them with us,
In our hearts and in our thoughts,
They will be with us always,
For love which is timeless,

DICKSON
In loving memory of our Papa, Don Dickson,
October 30, 1951 - July 15, 2008.
He wasn't a hero known to the world,
But a hero he was to this boy and girl.
We knew his voice before we could speak,
And loved it when he would sing us to sleep.
He taught us life's lessons of right from
wrong,
And instilled in us values so that we might be
strong.
And so through the years like a hero he stood,
Working to give all that he could.
1 still needed you here,
You were the one to make everything so clear.
You are a part of me and I am a part of you,
When you died a part of me died too.
1 never knew how hard it was to lose someone
you love,
Until the day you went to heaven above.
Even though 1 can't see,
I know you're up there watching over me.
I miss you more and more every day,
And all I can do is pray.
In my heart you shall forever remain.
Forever loved and missed, Jan. 29x

Huron String School
celebrates 25 years
The Huron String School recently cele-
brated their 25th anniversary at A Concert
in The Park in Goderich.
The string school began as Central
Huron String School in the fall of 1984
with about 20 student , members. Centtal
Huron String School originally served
only the Clinton and Seaforth areas with
Elayne Ras and Dave Stelpstra as teach-
ers. It expanded to Goderich in 1985 when
The Bluewater String School was formed.
Eventually Elayne moved to Goderich in
1988 and amalgamated the two schools
into the Huron Sting School. Now the di-
rector, Elayne has been joined in previous
years by commuting apprentice teachers,
and currently she's joined by Jo -Ann Ras,
a music and movement and theory special-
ist. The program now serves students from
all over Huron County ranging in age from
three to adult, studying violin, viola and
cello.
Elayne Ras began Suzuki Violin les-
sons at the age of eleven at the first Suzuki
school in Toronto, after studying piano
with her mother since the age of five. She
attended the University of Western On-
tario and received her Hon.BMus (perfor-
mance) and her BA in Psychology. In 2002,
Elayne became a registered violin teacher
trainer (one of only seven in Canada) with
the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
she conducted the Goderich Laketown
Band for 19 years, and is currently a mem-
ber of the Stratford Symphony Orchestra.
Currently living in Guelph, Elayne teaches
part-time with the Suzuki String School of
Guelph and commutes weekly to continue
to teach the Huron String School's dedi-
cated students.
As part of the 25th anniversary celebra-
tions, a piece was commissioned from
composer Graham Kidd of Guelph. He
attended the concert and watched as the
students beautifully played the premier
performance of "Twinkle Twinkle Huron
Stars." All of the students received an au-
tographed copy of the sheet music as part
of the celebrations.
