remaining records of prisoners once
housed there.
"The Khmer Rouge were sadisti-
cally meticulous with their docu-
mentation and photos of prisoners
to show people what kinds of things
would happen if they stepped out of
line," Y Dang said.
A museum archivist joined the
ladies' search, and began pouring
through the records.
After a few books contained no

Calling all classic car lovers — the Circle
City Cruizers (CCC) is set to host its annual
Memories Then and Now event July 18.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the grounds of
Courthouse Park will be peppered with works
of auto -art from all over the region. Accord-
ing to CCC secretary Norm McGillivray, the
2008 installment drew a staggering 254 regis-
tered participants.
"During the show, registration numbers are
randomly drawn for door prizes which were
generously donated by our local merchants,"
he said. "Tickets are sold for a 50/50 draw
which is held near the end of the show and all
proceeds are donated to local charities."
The Circle City Cruizers are a non-profit
organization. Over the last four years the
CCC have donated $7,500 to charities, the
local food bank and projects such as the CT
scanner campaign.
According to McGillivray, the CCC have
gained a reputation for running a well orga-
nized car show. He said due to the club's efforts
in promoting Goderich during their car show
circut across Ontario and some US states, the
CCC draw cars from all over Southwestern
Ontario and occaisonally Michigan.
"A big thank you has to be given to the God-
erich officials who help us in various ways to
hold this event at the Courthouse Square,"
he said. "Much appreciated is the continuous
emptying of the trash containers in the area
because they rapidly fill with refuse from the
purchases of spectators who attend the show.
Everyone is invited to attend and see an
imptressive selection of collectible cars. The
show is free to spectators. There is a $10 fee
for the participants that covers costs, as well
as goes into the charity fund, which is distrib-
uted annually at year-end.

Still haunted in many ways
by the discovery of this trau-

still wants to find a way not to
let the history of her family—
and of the millions of people
who died during the Cambo-

She has plans to work on a
longer radio piece or perhaps
a film documentary about
Cambodia one day. For the
time being, however, she is
focused on finishing her PhD
