Celtic societ
On behalf of James Moore,
Minister of Canadian Heri-
tage and Official Languages,
Ben Lobb, Member of Par-
liament (Huron -Bruce), to-
day announced funding for
the Goderich Celtic Folk
Society.
This funding will support
the 17th edition of the God-
erich Celtic Roots Festival,
which is exploring the theme
"The Scattering and Its Lega-
cy: Emigration and what fol-
lows." The Festival, which
will take place in Lions Har-
bour Pari from August 7 to
9, will present more than 20
emerging and professional
groups from across Canada
and abroad and feature mu-
sic from a number of Celtic
traditions.
"Our government is
proud to support the Celtic
Folk Society," said Minister
Moore. 'Tis festival contin-
ues to make an outstanding
contribution to Goderich,
by bringing the community
together to enjoy a variety of
music while learning about
their Celtic roots at the same
time."
