The Goderich Seabreeze
are sitting at 3-2-3.as they
approach the mid -point of
their soccer season with
Sunday's 1-1 draw with
Middlesex at Ag Park.
Anj McCool scored the
team's lone goal in the
Seabreeze's third tie of
the year. McCool leads
the team in scoring with
five goals this season.
Both teams got off to
a slow start on the pitch,
and coach Tom Costello
said while Middlesex
came out strong, the Sea -
breeze were first to get on
the scoreboard.
With three minutes left,
Middlesex . snuck one
past Goderich's Stepha-
nie Dale on a deflection.
Dale has been on the 'in-
jured list for some time,
but Costello said she felt
confident heading into
the match.
There were not too
many shots to block,
however, as the ball was
stuck in the midfield for
much of the game, thanks
to a rock -solid Seabreeze
defence.
Fullbacks Amy Mac-
Donald, Jessie Wither-
spoon, Ashley Fielder
and Charlotte Worsell
are the front line, backed
by the relentless stopper/
sweeper combination of
Clare Sutherland and Ka-
tie Costello.
