The .Goderich Memorial Arena was
alive with the sounds of the band Reload
as the young and the young at heart took
to the floor to recreate the Pav dances of
last century.
Doran Love, a member of the Goderich
Rotary Club, who put on the dance, said
that the group was really pleased with
the event, which featured music from the
mid -twentieth century.
"We had a good turnout, with about 175
people there, and more *who had bought
tickets to support the -cause," Love said.
The proceeds from the event will be
snlit. three ways, and given to the Huron
Vvumen's Shelter, the Big Brothers and
Big Sisters of North Huron, and Rotary
projects.
"Everyone had a great time," Love said.
"There was a lot of references to the old
Pav dances."
Some of those references were brought
on by lead -singer of Reload, Bud Mabon,
who used to play at the Pav dances.
"It was a. great way to tie things togeth-
er," Love said. "[Mabon] played things
that he originally played at the dances,
and the music and sound were fantastic.
People were up dancing from the very
first song and didn't stop until the band
did."
Love thanked everyone who supported
the event, and the Rotarians that helped
with the dance.
Love explained that the drive for the
event was to. have a low-cost, fun fund-
raisers.
"For a first attempt, we're very pleased
with the results," he said.

Jerry Rader's, a name synony-
mous with catering and homestyle
products in the Zurich area, is now
available at Goderich's Suncoast
Mali.
Cam Rader, son of Jerry Rader,
said he had been thinking about
opening up a store in Goderich for
some time, making that dream a re-
ality June 1. _
"I've been wanting to do this. for
awhile, and seriously considered it
for the last five years. In December
I decided to just do it," he said.
• Jerry Rader products were . car-
ried in Goderich through Zehrs,
Cam said, but they stopped some
time ago.
"We had a lot of requests to bring
our salads back to Zehrs," he said.
"But Zehrs only carried some sal-
ads, here we do the full line up."
The store carries the fares that
have made the Rader name famous,
including salads, frozen entrees,
and baked goods. They also pro-
vide produce from Metzger's Meats
in Hensall and Hayter's Turkey
Products out of Dashwood. They
also serve fresh sandwiches and hot
soup everyday for those lunches on
the run.
"We also carry a lot of unique
products," Cam said. "We have
jams and relishes that are made by
the Amish, small gifts and hand-
made crafts, and we sell turkey
summer sausage as well, which a
lot of people are surprised by."
Cam explained that he had a lot
of help getting the venture started.
"My girlfriend, Stephanie Geli-
nas, is a big part of the business.
and my family has helped a lot.
They've given us great support, and
really helped with steering us in the
right direction," Cam said, adding
that former employees of Raders in
Zurich helped set things up.
The store has been well received,
according to Cam, who said that
they haven't had much downtime
since opening the doors..
"We've had so many people come
in and say they missed not having
our products available here."
