Mixed scramble -meets with mixed weather at Maitland

On Friday, May 29, the Maitland
Country Club held its first Mixed
Scramble. Despite the. rain delay 41
players turned out. The winners were:

first low net went to Phil Paquette with
a score of 31. Lance Greer scored a 37
for first low gross. Closest to the pin on
No. 1 was Leighton Lynch. Other win-

Leddy.
On Tuesday, June 2, Senior Men's
League, 66 players took to the course.
The winners were: Flight A - Bill
Brown, B - Tom Rajnovich and Geo.
Zolob; C - Stan Paquette, D - Ken
Hunter, E - Dayle Wickie and F - Edgar
Rowe. Closest to the pin on No. 1 was
Bob Colquhoun.
On Tuesday evening Ladies' League,
40 ladies came to play. Lowest number

The North Huron (Goder-
ich) U 11 Tempest girls team
played Grand Bend in God-
erich lust week, winning 4-0.
Goal scorers were Quinn Tal-
bot (1) and Sierra Burt (3).
Goal keepers were Kayla
McCabe and Erin Vrolyk.
Lona Robinson and Lauren
Doherty played solid games
on defence, while Ashley
Bakker, Clancy Doherty and
Nerena Gaud controlled the
ball in the niid-field. Kailee
Hewitt and Aryn Buchanan
kept Grand Bend's goal keep-
er busy with quick plays in
the offensive zone.

singles tourney
The Ontario Shuffleboard Associa-
tion sponored a singles tournament in St,
Marys June 9-11. A total of 48 amateurs
and 58 pros and experts participated.
Al Weeks from the Ooderich Club man-
aged to come in fourth in the open main
division.
Meanwhile, back, at the Memorial,
members of the Goderich and District
Shuffleboard Club enjoyed an afternoon
of fun June 9.
Three game winners were: Ron Kluges
and Tony Carter.
The three Boston Pizza winners were:
Art Scott, Carol, Johnson, and Bob Bar-
tlett.

To top off the day, members met at the
