Down a road that's calm and peaceful, Guided by God's loving hand, He has gone upon a journey, To a distant better land. They say that time heals everything, But I know it isn't so, Because it hurts as much today, As it did four years ago. Forever loved, forever missed, your wife Gladys. -24x . FISHER In loving memory of a dear nephew and cousin, Jared, who passed away June 7, 2003. Another day, another year, A loving thought, a silent tear. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by the Fisher; Clark and O'Brien relatives. -24x RUSTON • Anne Ruston, dear mother and grandmother, who passed away on June 14, 2003 God called your name so softly, That only you could hear, No one heard the footsteps, Of the angels drawing near. You never said 'I'm leaving', You never said 'Goodbye', You were gone before we knew it, And only God knows why. May the winds of love blow softly, And whisper so you'll hear, We will always love and miss you, And wish you were here. Always remembered, forever loved, Doug, Jodie, Kelsey and Dakota. -24x MCNEE In loving memory .of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Worthy McNee, who passed away on June 15, 2001. Remembrance is a golden chain, Death tries to break, all in vain, To have, to love and then to part, Is the greatest sorrow of the heart. The years may wipe out many things, But this they'll wipe out never, The memory of those happy days, When we were all together. Lovingly' remembered by wife Shirley, Douglas, Laurine, Janet, Daniel and families. -24x Goderich Signal -Star, Wednesday, June 10, 2009 - Page A39 Beta Sigma Phi names Lyndon first lady for year The Goderich Chapters of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority named Dorothy Lyndon the First Lady of the Year for 2009, at the Annual Founders Day dinner at the White Carna- tion. To some Dorothy may not need any intro- duction, however others may have seen her bustling around the Goderich hospital in that famous volunteer green smock and wondered whom this lady with the smile is. What ever task Dorothy takes on she gives it her all whether it is her family, her friends or her community. Dorothy was born and raised in East Wawanosh. She has six children, 12 grand children and 10 great grand children. Dorothy has been a member of the Alex- andra Marine and General hospital Auxiliary for over 14 years. During that time she has worn many hats. She was membership chair, purchaser for the hospital gift shop and was always willing to take her tum selling the variety of items in the shop. She has done portering for the lab, x-ray deptartment and the emergency entrance. Other volunteer jobs have been organizing and running a garage sale and helping with a book sale. Dorothy has sold hundreds of hot dogs at the Auxiliary annual hot dog sale. She tells the story of the time she sold hot dogs when there was snow ori the ground. Someone was too late in booking for July and it ended up in the late fall. She tried to sell a steamy hot dog to a passerby and they just told her to forget it. It was too darn cold to eat, however they gave her money anyway. Her latest endeavour was organizing a vol- unteer program for the day surgery. She coor- dinates volunteers to assist patients when they come in for day surgery by serving snacks and juice or what ever the volunteer is asked to do by the hospital staff like change the lin- ens on the beds and make sure everything is disinfected. Besides being the originator of this program she takes her turn as well and also trains each volunteer. Over the yeats she has been a volunteer for the Legion Auxiliary and has also given a helping hand to the Alzheimer's Society when needed. Dorothy is always willing to give her time to anyone in need of a ride to an appointment or if she hears of someone who is ill she is quick to drop off a pot of soup or some muf- fins. In her spare time she likes to sew, quilt, Oi1EINCOtt MEDIA Bowes Publishers Limited A Subsidiary of Sun Media Corporation - A Quebecor Company The Goderich Signal -Star, published every Wednesday, 52 times p year, at Goderich, Ontario is one of The S••gnaal-Sl r Pulblish g Group of Community Newspapers.
