Seabreeze tie top -gunners London
in busy four -game week on pitch
Gerard Creaes The Goderich Seabreeze have a well -
signal -star staff deserved week off after playing four games
- from Sunday to Sunday last week, emerging
with two wins, one loss and one tie against the
number -one team in the league.
"I'm very pleased with the play of the
team," said coach Tom Costello. "They played
as well as they've every played."
However, everyone has an off -night, and
Costello said the Seabreeze had theirs in their
May 30 loss to St. Columban 0-1.
"It just wasn't our best effort all-around,"
he said. "Every once in a while you just don't
have it?'
However,. by Tuesday, the Seabreeze were
turning things around, heading to Nairn for a
3-1 victory.
Nadine VandenHeuval led the scoring with
two, with Anj McCool supplying Goderich's
other goal.
The game in Naim was a test of the Sea -
breeze's endurance, Costello said. With only
one sub and many on the injured list, the ladies

Maegan Reinhart notched two goals while
VandenHeuval and Lynette Gerber rounded
out the scoring.
"We're hanging right in there," said Cos-
tello. "I think we can play with any team in
the league."
Adding some weight to his words was a 1-1
draw with first -placed London Sunday night.
Goderich fell behind in the first half, how-
ever, Costello said the team talked things over
at the half and came back on strong offence.
"We had quite a few chances;' he said. "I'm
glad we put one in."
Gerber scored the tying goal.
Costello said the team is having a hard time
with injuries, however the Seabreeze are quick
to take up the slack.
After their regular goalie was injured in
Nairn, Costello said Charlotte Worsell filled
in, and did an incredible job as a first-time
goaltender.
"It's all new to her and she's been fantastic;'
he said. "She's had a good game"
The Seabreeze will play host to Belmont
