Shuffleboard news The new season at the Goderich Memo- rial Arena is off to a good start, with even more players attending the second week. May 19 was sponsored by the Scotia Bank, and May 26, by Shoppers Drug Mart. Many thanks to both. Four of our members were absent on May 26 as they journeyed to Midland to attend the Canadian National Doubles tournament held at the curling club in Coldwater, May 26- 28. The tournament was a great success with 74 ametuers playing May 26, and 64 experts and amatuers in the open event start- ing play May 27. Al Weeks and Art Scott of Goderich com- peted in the open event and managed to come in third in the consolation. • 'three game winners on May 26 were: Roy Roberts, Harry Stevenson, Bernice Moore, Brian Johnson, Shirley Stenenson, and Maxine Miller. Boston Pizza winners were: Ross Miller, Lorne Sargent, and Sandra Jardine. Congratulations to all! As I said before we still have room for more new players.
