The club is a fellowship or- ganization with a membership that's open to all laid off and re- tired Volvo employees, including those affected by long-term dis- ability and sickness. One of the many objectives of the club is to keep the legacy of IAM Local 1863 alive as long as possible given its respected as- sociation with the town Goderich and surrounding communities. Local 1863 provided funds to help with expenses of the new retirees organization to keep the club viable and tor sponsorships at the community level. There may be a continuation of support for minor sports similar to that provided by Local 1863. The club meets regularly every third Wednesday of the month and the next meeting will be held Wed., May 20 at 10 a.m. with a field trip to the champion antique Grader club workshop near Au- burn. Ted Rowe will be the guest speaker. Currently meetings are held in Safford Valley Hall at 10 a.m. and new members are always welcome.
