In order to qualify for membership
in the Huron Healthy Hearts program;
the main criteria is that you have to
have some form of heart disease.
While that membership criteria rep-
resents one of the great oxymorons in
life, Healthy Hearts has been helping
people with faulty tickers for over 15
years and the non-profit organization
held an open house Monday, April 27
at the Maitland Recreation Centre to
celebrate the success of the program.
With new equipment and a per-
manent residence at the town's rec-

boasts a regular membership of 170
active hearts and since its inception,
more than 800 people have ben-

program that gets people with heart

regular program to good health.
Regular supervised program are

to build up their strength and pursue
cardiovascular -stimulating exercises.
Public involvement has helped the
non-profit organization expand its
equipment arsenal and provide more
assistance where it's needed.
"We would like to thank the com-
munity for its ongoing support and

new equipment for the program;' on

director Eleanor Brewtser said. "Most
of the members are referred to us by
their physicians and it means they
