In a letter to council, BIA chair, Cheryl Dunn indicated uron�el home talat a t yr.. that her group is more than will- ing to sit down and discuss the closing of The Square or side streets on an individual event basis. "We have supported and will continue to support many events that have needed partial or to- tal closure of the Courthouse Square," a letter to council read. "The events have included street dances, Teddy Bear Parade at the Children's Festival, the Canada Day Parade, the Santa Clause Parade and the new Blues Fes- tival planned for later this sum- mer." Representing over 200 busi- nesses and services in the 62 acre -area designated as BIA, Dunn said the group's main goal is to help businesses prosper and encourage others to locate here. She asked that the BIA board be invited to the table to meet with the town and the actual event planners to develop a plan that benefits all parties.
