The Thunder, consisting of mainly Grade 6J7 kids from Goderich played round robin games versus the Sarnia Colts, St. Marys Schleprocks, and Stratford. In the opener versus the Colts, the Thunder started slowly trailing the home team 21-9 at the half. After the break, Thunder guards Connor Cox, John Doherty, and Mitchell Clarke displayed some *im- pressive impressive ball handling skills and the team played evenly with the Colts during this half. Ethan Milne made some nice contributions at both ends of the court for the local squad. Game two saw the Thunder play a Si Marys team that they are very fa- miliar with. Once again, the Thunder were slow out of the gate and it took a pep talk from Coaches Terry Cox and Ted Doherty at the half to get things turned around. In the second half, Jarred Bakker, Riley O'Keefe, and James Tigert con- tinually battled hard to help the Thun- der make a charge near the end of the game. Jonathan Ridsdale did some excellent work at the post position to score some key second half baskets. In game three versus Stratford, the Thunder started quickly and never slowed down all game. Led by some inspired play from under age player Harrison Lobb, the Thunder domi- nated Stratford with rebounding and scoring from Sarah Macdonald and Robbie Franken en route to a 56-16 victory. The Thunder players wish to thank Coaches Terry Cox,. Ted Doherty, John Clarke, and Niki Kovats for their dedication and tireless effort in getting this basketball program up and run- ning. The players are already looking forward to next season. TRUST FUND TOWNSHIP OF «,rrtuy-ux,sawz-.w,v,.axs:+ TOWNSHIP OF ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF RIVER MILL LINE BRIDGE NOTICE OF COMPLETION THE PROJECT: The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is planning to replace River Mill Line Bridge (designated as municipal bridge #45), which spans Boundary Creek immediately south of Hawkins Road (as illustrated on the accompanying key plan). Recent engineering inspections of the structure have identified deferioration with several components of this single -lane bridge, including the guiderails and. deck. To resolve these problems, the Township is proposing to replace the bridge with a structure capable of accommodating two lanes of traffic. The approach roads would also be re -graded in conjunction with this work. At this time, it is anticipated that the bridge replacement would be completed during the 2009 construction season. The affected road section of River Mill Line would be closed during the construction period and traffic would be diverted around the project site onto adjacent roads. Project costs would be partially funded through a grant provided by the Build Canada Fund - Communities Component (BCF -CC). THE ENVIRONMENTAL SCREENING' PROCESS: The planning for this project is following the environmental screening process set out for Schedule B activities under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.
