Arbour Day, pitchin'
in
Students of all three elementary schools in Goderich had the opportunity to cel-
ebrate Arbour Day proper April 23, as Union Gas in Goderich donated two trees
per school. Two trees were planted at St. Mary's and four were planted at Robert-
son Memorial - the future Goderich Public School - for both Victoria and Robert-
son students. Town staff were on -hand to help with the planting. Clockwise from
top: St. Marys students clean up the Maitland Recreation Centre grounds during
pitch -in day April 24. Robertson and Victoria students also took part, cleaning
up around the CPR station and Ag Park; Hallie Stothers shovels oeat moss onto
the newly -planted roots; Rebecca Duncan, Brandon Beuermanri, Nathan Zondag,
Kyle Prouse, Alex Genttner pack in the mulch and Heather Chesney lends a hand
with the shovel. Union Gas has been providing two trees to each school for the
past 15 years.
