brothers Jack & William. Friends were received
at McCallum & Palla Funeral Home, Goderich
on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral
Service was held at the Funeral Home on
Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 1 p.m. Rev. Dr.
Chris Morgan officiated. Interment Maitland
Cemetery. Donations to the ALS Foundation
or the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital
Foundation - CT Scan. Friends may sign the

BELLINGER
Mary Helen Bellinger (formerly Doholis) of
Goderich, Ontario,our beloved mother,
grandmother, stepmother, and great
grandmother Went home to be with the Lord
on Thursday April 9, 2009 due to complications
from hip surgery after a fall. Helen was born
Mary Helen Sikorski on November 27, 1925 in
Winnipeg Manitoba. Her family moved to
Toronto Ontario where she grew up and went
to school: In the early 40's Helen married
Russell Gilbert in Toronto and was later
married to Fredrick Doholis. They moved to
St Thomas Ontario in the early 50's where they
were in the hotel business. In addition to
running the business, she was an avid bowler.
In 1960 Helen moved her family to .London
Ontario where she worked as a waitress at the
Short Horn Restaurant and Tavern. She
purchased a cottage at Blue Water Beach in
Goderich Ontario and a few years later made it
her permanent residence. She worked at
Robindale's restaurant for many years and
retired in October 1983. Helen was an avid
reader and had many hobbies including,
playing bridge and euchre, knitting and
crocheting and 'playing scrabble with her
family. Helen was very active and was never
too busy to help out a friend or family member
in need. Helen was a good cook and took great
pride in preparing her famous perogies or
cabbage rolls on holidays, or for family get
togethers. Helen married Roy Bellinger on
July 31, 1993 and became "Helen of Roy".
She moved to Port Albert but was still very
active at MacKay Hall where she played cards
and served one term as Vice President and two
terms as President. Helen moved to Goderich
Place in June of 2008 and moved to Craigwiel
Manor nursing home in Ailsa Craig Ontario in
March of 2009. Her favourite activities were
being with family and friends and enjoying
life. She thoroughly enjoyed the presence of
her children, her grandchildren, and her great
grandchildren. Helen is pre -deceased by her
parents, her former husband Fred Doholis, her
brother Joe Sikorski, her sister Muriel Brown,
and her husband Roy Bellinger. Helen is
survived by her children, Russell (Karen)
Gilbert of Hemlock Michigan, Donna Evans of
Dundas Ontario, Ted (Linda) Doholis of Arva
Ontario, Stephen Doholis of Phoenix Arizona.
Sister in law Chris Sikorski and her children of
Toronto Ontario as well as her brother in law
Dr. Morris Brown and his children living in
Wallaceburg Ontario. Helen is also survived
by her grand children, Kimberly (Rob) White
of Sanford Michigan, Tim Gilbert of Saginaw
Michigan, Paula (Steve) Bowman of London
Ontario, Peter (Shana) Evans of Hamilton,
Ontario, Ted Doholis of London Ontario, Lisa
Doholis of London, Ontario, Jon Doholis of
Phoenix, Arizona and Mikhail Doholis of
Vancouver, Washington as well as many great
grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her
step children, Michael Bellinger of Orangeville,
Susan (Terry) Worsell of Goderich, Nancy
(Ken) Doherty of Peterborough, Mark (Dawn)
Bellinger of Goderich and Paul (Cathy)
Bellinger of Stratford. At Helen's request,
cremation has taken place. A memorial service
to celebrate her life will be held on Friday,
April 24, 2009 at 1 p.m. at St. George's
Anglican Church, 87 North St., Goderich
Ontario. Reverend Allan Livingstone officiating
with a luncheon to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
MacKay Center for Seniors, or St. Georges
Anglican Church or a charity of your choice
and may arranged through McCallum & Palla
Funeral Home, Goderich 519-524-7345.
