Local musician Jef White to host coffee house performances
Local singer/guitarist/songwriter
Jef White will be hosting two live
coffee house performances at the
Taylor's Corners Schoolhouse com-
mencing at 8 p.m. on Friday, April
24 and Saturday, April 25. As well
as performances by White, local
favorite Kati Durst will also be
appearing with Quarter Mile Lane.
Jef has just released a new CD
entitled 01' Crazy Half Moon
Wheel which showcases twelve
performances by many area musi-
cians not the least.of whom are Kati
Durst and Matt Hussey. Also fea-
tured are internationally acclaimed
musicians like multi award winning
guitarist Steve Piticco and Grammy
nominated Jazz flutist/saxophonist
Jane Bunnett who,
incidentally, just took
home a Juno Award
from this years award
show.
Originally from
Newfoundland,
White's first album
Grey Lord, produced
by Juno Award recipi-
ent Eugene Martynec,
boasted some of the
best known studio
musicians available at
the time.
His second recording
was for CBC Records
and 'was highlighted by perfor-
mances from Hall of Fame jazz

Jef, known affectionately to local
musicians as the hermit, moved
from Toront to
Goderich in 1983, cit-
ing philosophical dif-
ferences with the
music industry. In the
latter nineties he
released two more
CD's, While Dylan
Grew Whiskers and
The Red Arrow
recorded for the most
part with Mark Hussey
presently of Thyme
Square Media and
Faux Pop Productions
based in Goderich.
White believes that
the advent of internet technology
will be helpful in promoting and
selling his music in ways that were
not available to him previously.
White has set up a comprehensive
Web site, www jefwhitemusic.com,
which makes available the down-
loading of all of his music and pro-
vides necessary information
regarding his music. He also has
two videos from his new CD
currently running on YouTube.

House performances is $12, and
