Facing an uncertain future in which the only certain-
ties are job loss and loss of personal income, employees
of Volvo Construction Equipment tapped in to some
expert financial advice at a financial fair organized by
the company and the Goderich Chamber of Commerce
Thursday, April 16 in Saltford.
The employees were carefully guided through the
minefield of financial planning, investment products
and terminology by Ross Daily, former business and
agriculture editor of CFPL- TV, now A Channel, Lon-
don and his wife, Eve, who now work as independent
financial planners.
Formerly with Scotia McLeod, the Dailys offered in-
dependent advice to the audience, outlining a six -point
plan that stressed that the single -most important deci-
sion was the selection of a competent financial advisor.
"It is the single most important relationship you will
have;" Ross Daily said. "No-one knows where the mar-
ket is going but there are certain expectations. The advi-
sor is your partner and servant and you are paying, so
there is an obligation on their part to provide service.
You require honesty and disclosure and advice only
from your advisor."
Finding a qualified financial advisor is like filling a
job vacancy, Eve offered, adding that those looking for
a financial planner should ask questions and look for
a professional with qualifications that will
service the needs of the investor. Experi-
ence, they agreed, was an asset that pro-

The fair, organized by Volvo and the Goderich Chamber of
Commerce, offered employees access to a number of finan-
cial planners and investment companies. Daily, and his wife,

group on investment strategies and the need for financial
planning.
