It was a great year for the Eagles pool -
side, as St. Anne's had a banner perfor-
mance from their all -girl swim team at the
Ontario Federation of School Athletic
Association (OFSAA) meet earlier this
month.
St. Anne's came in eighth out of 267
schools in Ontario, the best result any swim
team at St. Anne's has ever accomplished.
Their were many personal bests and all
ofthe girls swam exceptionally well, both
individually and in relays, according to
coach, Terrie Van Osch.
The Eagles made it to three finals and
two 'B' finals. Nadine Otten swam very
well and received a bronze medal. The
Junior Girls Free Relay of Nicole Van
Gaalen, Marvel Muller, Kristen Devereaux
and Nadine Otten came in fifth overall with
a personal best. Correena Otten came in
sixth overall in the 100 metre back stroke
and gave it her all. •
The Senior girls relay accomplished a
personal best, however were disqualified
for a bad exchange.
"We had a good time and it really opened
the eyes of the girls about how hard the
competition is at provincials. They repre-
sented St. Anne's very well," coach
VanOsch said, "It was a long two days of
competition but it was a great experience."

The St. Anne's Junior Boys Hockey team
blew away the competition coming out as
the undefeated champions in their first tour-
nament of the year in Stratford.
They played four games allowing only
two goals in the entire tournament and col-
lecting two shutouts.
The championship game was played
against Sarnia Collegiate. The Eagles had
previously played this team in the tourna-
ment and won 5-1.
The- team played exceptionally well, dis-
playing skill and speed while killing off
penalties and scoring short-handed goals,
acquiring a total of 21 goals in the tourna-
ment.
Jake Ringuette and Liam MMiaaskant, 'AAA'
Lakers defencemen from Goderich, collect-
ed a total of five points in four games.
Josh Whitely, a forward for the Goderich
Bantams, had one assist. The team this year
is sure to go far with their outstanding skill
and aggressive style of play.
