Eldest son of the late Ruby (nee Strothers) and Walter Hawthorne. Survived by one sister Doris of Goderich, brothers Franklin (Shirley) of Lucknow, Donald (Pat) of Toronto, John (Anne) of Beaverton. Predeceased by his wife Jean, brother Charles (2006) and nephews David and Jim. Survived by nieces and nephews Dianne, Heather, Susan, Barbara, Cameron, Geoffrey and Steven.
