Hensall company brings TLC's Kate Gosselin to Canada
Kate Gosselin, the bst-selling author and
star of the No. 1 show on TLC, Jon & Kate
Plus 8, will make her first Canadian appear-
ance in London on March 22.
The mother of sextuplets and
twins is speaking at the Wom-
en's Lifestyle Show at the Lon-
don Convention Centre.
Her new book Eight Little
Faces: A Mom's Journey, is set
for release in April.
Gosselin and her husband,
Jon, and eight children are in
their third season on the reality
TV show, which shows the chal-
lenges and highlights of raising
sextuplets and twins.
The sextuplets were born in
May 2004 and the twins arrived
in October 2000.
Gosselin's appearance is ex-
pected to be the icing on an already delicious
cake, said spokesperson Jane Antoniak. The
recipe, she added, calls for a mixture of wom-
en's lifestyle and Huron County delights.
The two-day Women's Lifestyle Show is in
its seventh year, and has grown in popularity
steadily since its Huron inception. The event
was borne from Cass Bayley of the Bayley
Group even planning company located in
Hensall.
Along with shopping spa service, sam-
pling and even happy hour, one of the show's
stages will be dedicated to the delectable, as
some of the areas best chefs, including Jef-
fery Hicks of the Benmiller Inn, converge
during cooking demonstrations.
Gosselin recently responded to questions
from Sun Media.
However, some of those questions, includ-
ing why she said in her first book, "... it is
exhausting to constantly feel like an exhibit
at the local zoo," yet continue to let cameras
into the home, and what advice she has for
Octomom, Nadya Suleman, were not an-
swered.
Gosselin revealed she would like to be a
talk -show host one day and that her grand-
mother was born in London.
How do you find the time
to care for the children, write
two books and film your tele-
vision series?
It is my job. It is extremely
crazy busy and sometimes
I think I can't handle it all,
but I try to look at all of the
positives. I can basically
make my own schedule and
I really like that. Every day
is a challenge and I have be-
come a scheduling miracle
worker through it all! Also,
I can't forget to mention that
Jon and our babysitter also
make it possible for me to
travel and work.
You once feared for the life of your babies,
what is your biggest fear now that they are

four years old?
Balancing each of their needs, all eight of
my kids.
How do you make ends meet, especially in
these economic times?
We're doing the same things we have al-
ways done: Clipping coupons; watching for
sales; stocking up when things are on sale
and planning meals (and other purchases)
according to sale flyers.
Why do you think your TV show has such
wide appeal, with kids to grandmothers lov-
ing it?
We are still surprised
by the major ratings and
reactions. Some people
see us as 'inspiring'
while we feel like we
are just parents doing
what it takes to raise our
uniquely made up fam-
ily. Little kids watch to
'make friends' with our
kids. Teens watch be-
cause they babysit and don't have kids yet.
Young married couples watch because they
look to the future of their families. Young
parents watch to get advice or see how we
do things or even to remind themselves they
'have it easy.' Older parents watch to remi-
nisce, as do grandparents and so on
