In addressing Huron County's com- mittee of the whole, March 11, Council- lor Max Demaray (Howick) asked why a presentation made on behalf ,of Huron County's Good Food Box program at county council's March session included a bag made in Chi- na. Warden Ken Oke says county coun- cil would have to change its bylaws to direct county depart- ments to purchase bags that are locally supplied before such matters are an issue. Coun. James Fer- gusson (Bluewa- ter), who chairs the COW, says the bags, which contained a number of locally - grown and produced items, might have been supplied by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, meaning their origin falls out of the coun- ty's purview.
