HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Goderich Signal-Star, 2009-02-18, Page 27Goderich Signal -Star, Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - Page A27 Youth bowlers off to provincials after heated zone contest Youth Bowling teams from Little Bowl travelled on Sunday to various lanes around the Zone to compete for a spot in the Four Steps to Stardom provincials. , The junior boys team were successful first -place finishers with awesome scores from Robbie Franken 161, Shane Keddy 212, Casey Huff 216 and Andrew Shaw 181. A big thank you to their coach Lori Rounds. The -Bantam Girls finished in first also with great games from' Payten Lang 212, Hailey Harris 164, Alecia Saunders 125 and Lizzy McDonald 223. Thank you goes to the girls coach Debbie Brown. The senior boys team held a second spot finish with nice bowling from Mat- thew Stuparyk, Thomas Hamilton, Derek Saundercock and Rickey Fields. Thanks to great coaching by Willard Stuparyk. Another second place went 'to bantam boys team with help from an awesome coach Marion Shelhamer. The bantam boys were Robert Shelhamer, Na- than Jeffrey, Curtis Jeffrey and Mitchell Adams. The new event this year was the combo team which consisted of Julien Snowden, Scott Franken and Daiton Lingard. The team finished in a close second place with cheering from their coach Ramona Fea- gan. Good luck to the teams going on to the provincials March 8. Honour Rollers Kevin Willis 325 and 842 triple, Greta Ciolfe 211, Tim McLean 313 and 847 tri- ple, Kevin Rumig 272, Nick Daer 308 and 772 triple, Nick Daer 330. Youth Canada Bowlers Senior bowler Derek Saundercock was blasting the•pins with 281 and 701 triple! Also Rickey Fields 237. The Juniors en- joyed nice games by Zack Podgrenko 127, Andrew Shaw 210, Matthew Adams 183, Trevor Osinga 147, Robbie Franken 214, Brody Harris 160, Eric Saunders 172, Casey Huff 200 and Tiffany Foster 166. The Bantams were splashing the pins by Vanessa Chisholm 96, Hailey Harris 128 and Jimmy Murray 131. The PeeWees bowled well this week with awesome games from Nathan Zoethout 112, Kaidin MacAdam 98 and Julien Snowden 122. Monday Ladies The Boston Pizza Brods are in the lead on the Ladies scoreboard. Nice games this week were from Julie Koopmans 214 and Tanya Bowden 231. Tuesday Seniors Tuesday morning Milt Ferris bowled 212 and 607 triple and other nice games were Marcel Richard 217 and Duncan Murchison 237. Meneset The group bowled the pins over with nice games from Bev Andrews 191, Au- drey Black 188, Bob Mills 234, Ann Ziegler 221, Jean Taft 151, Gloria weir 212 and Maureen Chapelle 154. Special Olympics The lanes were warmed up from the gang with awesome games from Nick Bowden 183, Laramie Turner 254, James Tebow 262, Devin Scott 132, Scott Fitzgerald 159, Linda Reid 198, Aaron Nichol -McDonald 156 and Jeff Warnaar 154. • Tuesday Mixed The league bowled well Tuesday with great games from Stephen Wragg 181, Christine Carter 211 and Rob Raidt 317 and 729 triple. Thursday Seniors The Seniors were on fire Thursday morning with nice bowling done by Gwen Trebish 215, Theo Van Der Korput 235, Steve Winter 261, Marshall Wright 249, John Watson 171, Irene Crawford 224, Libby Wilson 220, Greta Ciolfe 211 and 471 triple, Dennis Hartlieb 249 and Han- ny Wunnink 220.
