Day as usual ,with a big strawberry
festival, sports and races.

with Charlie Gladman for several

Clayton Beam, of Kitchener" spent the
week -end with the former's parents.
Mrs. E. Irwin returned to Landon
Saturday after visiting for a few days
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thos.

Mr. J.J. Knight motored over from
Guelph last Saturday and was accom-
panied home by Mrs. B. Knight and
her: mother Mrs. Drew.
Prof. A. W. and Mrs. Anderton
left last week for Bayfield to 'spend
the summer. Miss Vera Essery is
visiting them this week.
Mr. R. N. Creech has the pillars
up for the erection of two new ver-
andahs }which will greatly add to the
appearance of his home on Andrew
street.

ly over. The supply inthis district
was not equal to the demand and not
a few will be "wvithonit this . favorite
preserve.
Workmen are making alterations
to the store formerly occupied by
Kirk Bros. as a butcher shop, and we

farewell sermon at Chatham ,on Sun-
day and is this week moving to St.
Thomas to become pastor of Central
Methodist church.
Mr. Lloyd Beavers who has been
attending school in St. Marys is home
for the holidays and has taken a pos-
ition for the summer with the Public
Utilities Commissioi.
Saturday was a very hot day, one
of the. hottest so far this, -season. It
turned cooler in the evening and on
Sunday a little fire felt good. It wads
close to frost Sunday night.

visit for a few days with relatives in.

their annual picnic Saturday after
noon in BaIlantyhe's bush. The.
weather was exceedingly hot, but the
picnic was one of -the best"in years:
