Ben served his country proudly in the Forestry Corps and the Air Force in the Second World War and was the last surviving member of his Lancaster fikight crew. We remember him, not only as a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, but also as a fiercely determined and independent individual with a sharp sense of humour, an intense curiosity about the world, and a life-long commitment to learniQg that has inspired us all.
