In memory of Harold Chase (Abe), a dear
husband, .father and grandfather, who passed
away six years ago, February 8.
Every day, in some small way,
Memories of you come our way,
Though absent, you are'ever near,
Still missed, still loved, and ever dear.
Sadly missed by Yvonne and family. -6x
HAMILTON
In loving memory of a dear husband and
father, Dinnie, who passed away one year
ago, February 9, 2008.
Our hearts are full of memories,
We treasure them with care,
The way you had to leave us,
Will always seem unfair.
Sad are the hearts that loved you,
Silent the tears that fall,
Living our lives without you,
Isthe hardest part of all.
In all that life has given us,
And all ,that is left to do,
We will never have a greater gift,
Than the -times we spent with you.
Lovingly remembered by: Dorothy, Graham
and Barb, Greg and Deb, Paul and Andrea.

HAMILTON
In loving memory of our dear Grandpa,
Dinnie.
When we lose someone we love,
It seems that time stands still.
What moves through us is a silence,
A quiet sadness; a longing for one more day,
one more touch.
We may not understand why you left.
We weren't ready to say goodbye.
But little by little we begin to remember,
Not just that you died, but that you lived.
Your life gave us memories too beautiful to
forget.
• We will see you again some day in a heavenly
place,
Where there are no words that mean
goodbye.

In loving memory of our daughter, -Lynda
Bruinsma, who passed away February 2,
2008.
Tonight the stars are gleaming
On a lonety, silent grave, •
Where sleeps'in dreamless slumber
One we loved but could not save,
No one knows the silent heartaches,
Only those who have lost can tell
Of the grief that we bear in silence
For the one we loved so well.

Budget under-
values farming
Dan Schwab
huron expositor
The Huron County Federation of Agricul-
ture and its provincial parent organization
are feeling "disappointed" but not totally
ignored by the federal government after the
release of the 2009 budget last week.
Specific requests made by the farming
community to the government as it prepared
the budget were disregarded, including a
previous promise by the feds to help those
who lost more than half their revenue due to
increased input costs.
Farmers are also frustrated that calls for
the introduction of the AgriFlex program
were ignored.
"We have lobbied our local MP that Agr
riFlex program funding was needed that
would allow provinces to determine where
it is needed most - such as
the current Risk Manage-
ment Program in Ontar-
io," says HCFA president
Wayne Black.
He says the budget an-
nouncement of $500 mil-
lion towards an agricul-
tural flexibility program
specifically excluded
business risk management
programs such as the RMP
in Ontario.
"This means the fed-
. eral government is still
not willing to fund their
60 per cent share of the
current Ontario RMP," he
adds.
He says the budget re-
fers to funding programs
that will reduce costs of
production and improve
environmental sustain-
ability but do not target
the risk management pro-
grams that farm groups
were asking for.
Steve .Thompson, ,a
grains and oilseeds fanner
near Clinton and past -pres-
ident of the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture,
says the made -in -Ontario
RMP developed in 2007
has already paid farmers
a substantial amount of
money just from the prov-
ince's 40 per cent share.
Of the $500 million
flexibility program, $190
million is new money that
is allocated over the next
two years, Black says.
Black says farmers
south of the border recent-
ly received tax incentives
in response to the U.S. fi-
nancial crisis.
The assistance they've
received puts Canadian
farmers at a huge com-
petitive disadvantage, he
says.
