BASIS OP UNION HS BEEN REACHED The committee on union between Cavell Presbyterian and Main street Methodist churches met last week and agreed on a basis on which the two congregations could come 'together, the principle of which appeared in the Times last feek. One of the greatest difficulties in the uniting of these congregations is the property rightsboth of churches. The ad- ministration ministration of Caveii property is in the hands of the Board of Managers, while the deed to the property is vested in the Presbytery. Main St, property isadministered by the Trustee Board and the deed' is invest- ed in the Conference. Both denom- inations have committies appointed to deal with these; problems. The 'matter is being brought before the London Conference this week, 551 B.W.F. Beavers; chairman of the coiuniittee5sOni Main: street, was ap- pointed to present the matter lo 'conference. He will be supported by Mr. Medd, chairman of the committee of the whole and Mr. W.S. Howdy, Who is the delegate from the Main street church to the conference, it is agreed that: in the event of union a Presbyterian and Methodist pastor shall serve the congregation In turn. a Presbyterian iiastor to ,be called first. If the basis of union is accept ed but the Conference and the Presby - tory the rinestion will then come be- fore the two congregations. their pitcher and for the first five or six innings kept running' up a score: Mr. Doupe; of Kirkton, :umpired be- hind the bat and W.J.
