One angel winged its way earth-
ward, buttwo took their flight heav-

eaveuward when death visited the home
of Rev. Andrew and Mrs. McLaucl}lin
Pontypool, on Saturday March 11th,
and took their •little son David,two
years of.age• so ,suddenly and tragic-
ally from them.
He had- been ` playing happily, as
was -his joyous way, all day with his
another, who was confined to her
ioonr through illness, when about
five, o'clock in aninstant of time he
;had: found a bottle containing a few
drops of Carbolic,though the agon-
ized'• mother snatched quickly,
enough had passed his lips to prove
fatal, and in two hours lie had slip-
ped -quietly away without. suffering.
On, Monday a private. service was

Tuc,uer, B. A., B, D., of, Millbrook,
spoke a few choice words of comfort
to the stricken family. :After this
service loving hands carried the pre-
eiouS burden to the church erected
and dedicated 'during the pastorate
of Rev, Andrew McLauclrlin, and
where just a fCW short months be-
fore', the beautiful baby David, had

The regular meeting of the Huron=
dale Women's Institute was held on
Wednesday, Mar; 29th, at the home
of Mrs. Wni. Wood, about $5 ladies
being present.- The subject for the
afternoon was "The Value of Fruits
as a'Food," it being taken by the two
graduates of Macdonald Institute,
Guelph. A short paper was given by
Miss J. Strang, and an interesting de-
monstration by Miss I. Mitchell,• for
which she deserves much credit, she
making three 'different salads. Other
nuhnbers of the program consisted of
a reading by Miss H. Etherington, a
piano duet by the, Misses Pym and
a vocal duet by Mrs. Kerniok " and
Miss Luther. Several important
items of business were discussed. 'A
cooking sale was planned for in the
near future and a donation to tlie•
Sick children's Hospital, London, was
also voted for. • After a somewhat
lengthy meeting .a social half hour
was spent during which refreshments
were `served. The next meeting. in.
May is to be Held at the home of Mrs.
C. Allison., The April meeting being
withdrawn.

DALE PASSES -
Mi. James L. Russell of Russel -
dale, died on Saturday, March 25, in
his 72nd year., Practically his whole
life was spent on _the farm on which
he died. In 1874 he mas married to
Mary Cornish, who predeceased hind
about -eight years ago. In 1913 Mr.
Russell met with a'very serious ac-
cident which left him a very help-
less condition physically, but during
those years he maintained a clear-
ness of thought and vision. He was
reeve of Fullarton township for 8
years, and was a director of the Us -
borne & Hibbert Mutual Fire Insur-
ance Co. for many years. He is sur-
vivied by three children, Mrs., Ernest
Dow, of Hibbert; Bert. and Nellie at
home, Interment took place in Roy's
,cemetery.

Mr r Russell was elected as -director in
the year 1902. He thus had 'given
twenty years of devoted service to
the company. During''those years Ite
proved himself to'.be a man, of sterl-
ing ini,egr•ity, sound judgment, and•
good business ability, and while firm`
in itis convictions he was ever cour-
teous and considerate toward others
whose views mightdiffer from his
own: He was of a very: pleasant and
genial disposition, and though for
several' years he was burdened with
a serious physical disability his ,"pres-
ence at the board was, ever a ray of
sunshine, but his chair as vacant to-
day, and we fortouch

voice that is still, but he has left us
the heritage of a lite that was beaut-
ifully

kindly' deeds and loyal devotion to

Mr. F. E. Ellerington won several
prizes at the ' Seaforth spring show
with his team -of horses.
Mrs. Anderson, who has'been vis-
iting for several' weeks herewith her
mother, Mrs. Delbridge, returns on
Thursday, to her home at the Soo.
While drawing wood, Mr. Lyal
Jordan of Hibbert met with a serious
accident. In some manner he was
thrown from the wagon to the rough
road and it is thought the wheels
passed over his head. Dr. Simpkins
was called and ordered him sent to
Stratford Hospital where he is now
doing as well as can be expected.
