ford.
Mr. Silas 1VIcra1ls, of Waterloo,
is visiting at his home here for a

Mr. X. G. Cochrane is ill with a
severe cold, being threatened with
pneumonia.
Mrs. Geo. Geddes, of Loudon, is
visiting with relatives and friends
at Sexsmith.
Mr. Alexander Gray, of Egmond-
ville, slipped on the street and fract-
ured his hip.
Mrs. Brown, of London, visited
with Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Gladman
the forepart of the week.
Mr. Garvey Acheson, of St. Thoni-
as, visited his parents on Friday and
took in the Sarnia game.
Hy. Gould, of Windsor, visited
his mother on. Friday last, also tak-
ing in the Sarnia hockey match.

Messrs Alex Stewart and Will
Brown of London, were in Exeter
Friday evening for the Sarnia game.
Rev and Mrs Chidley, of Thames
Road have both been ill with influ-
enza. Rev. Dr. Fletcher took Mr.
Chidley's work on Sunday.
Mr. Herman Elliott, of Sarnia
came up with the Sarnia fans on. Fri-
day last to witness the game here and
visit his parents Mr. and Mts. Thos:
Elliott.
Among the Exeter Old 'Boys who
witnessed the hockey game in 'Sarnia
were Ey. Sweet and E. H. Axt, of
Detroit; Reg. Bissett and Hy. Parsons
of Chatham.
Mr. and Mrs Jas. Jewell, who have
spent the past several weeks in Lon-
don, returned home last week and
were accompa,nied by their little
•grandson, Robert Bradt.
Mr, Hy Strang took tlfe services in
Caven Presbyterian church oit
Sabbath morning last owing to the
• illness of the pastor, Rev. J. Foote.
• The evening service was withdrawn.
A rumor has been circulated that
Mr. E. J. Christie intended moving
shortly to Toronto. We are pleased
to learn that there is no foundation
foi the report, as Mr. Christie has no
intention at present of leaving town.

The anniversary services of the
Evangelical church were held Sunday
last when the Rev. J. P. Hauch, of
Kitchener, preached very able ser-
mons both morning and evening. On
Monday evening the Choral Society
under the leadership of Mr. Ander-
ton, of Exeter, gave ae. concert, Mr.
Anderton also giving an organ recital
which was greatly enjoyed by all pre-
sent.
Mr. Lloyd England has moved the
post office into the building he re-
cently purchased from Mr. Albert
•Beaver.
Mrs. 'Walker has returned to her
home here having spent the last
month with relatives in Detroit and
Wyoming.
The Ladies' Aid of the Methodist
church had another successful sale
of home cooking Saturday last.

Mrs., Wm. Isacett, of Dublin, aged
85 years, died at the home of her son
William, on Feb. fith after 'a very
short illness. 'Her husband pre -de-
ceased her some six years ago. She
is survived by six daughters and two
sons; Wm. and Thos. both of Hib-
bert; Mrs. L. Pethic; Mrs Jos. 'Wat-
son; Mrs, T. Statton all of Hibbert;
Mrs. Linton of Logan; Mrs. Baily of
Lonclon; and Mrs Bidnell of B. C.
Deceased was a Methodist and the
funeral was held on Wednesday from
her late residence to Mitchell Cem-
etery.
